Citizens League is a non-partisan, non-profit origanization that strives to promote common good and democracy in Minnesota.  

The organization publishes a quarterly magazine that engages minnesotans in civic dialogue around political and policy issues. Citizen’s league connected with our UX team to expand these policy conversations into an online communication platform.  Citizen’s League has some truly inspired ideas about supporting intentional and meaningful conversation about important policy issues.

The Tailor Made Apothecary by Bittercube is a program that facilitates the creation of custom beverage ingredients for bars and restaurants.   In the current program structure, an ambassador team travels around the world hosting creation labs in a one-on-one session. with a bar manager or decision maker.  Time and resource limits are compromising the potential reach and growth of the program.  In order to meet growing program demands, the tailor made team is looking to deploy a digital platform that will host creation labs without the involvement of an expert or ambassador.

Stakeholders at Prime Digital Academy requested assistance in creating a new welcome gift for full-stack developer students.  The old water bottle model is no longer being manufactured, and the replacement must be a meaningful and usable solution to the problem.  Campus beverage culture was observed through fly-on-the-wall observations in order to gain an understanding of how these students use and interact with their water bottles.

Cushman & Wakefield is the second largest commercial real estate brokerage firm in the world. The Minneapolis office is working to expand their potential client reach by maximizing their use of technology for relationship building. A series of real estate diagnostic tools have been developed to facilitate this client and broker relationship. Our teams assistance was requested to evaluate the client facing tools.

User Defined Design - designated diner Mobile App

New Product Development - A restaurant discovery tool driven by expert recommendations in the food industry.

Outlined here, is the process used to develop a new app that assists restaurant patrons in finding a place to dine as well as facilitate reservations.  The app will approach food finding by the people who know it best: Award winning chefs, industry professionals, business owners and food writers. To get started, a phase of discovery research was performed in order to gain an initial understanding of the problem space. Competitor analysis and user interviews conducted in a directed story-telling method were the primary investigation tools used during the discovery research design phase. As a result, insights of user routines and patterns began to surface and these defined the direction and scope for this application.

MNCode Camp and MN Code Challenge - Design Strategy Development

Defining Design Strategy in a Complex Problem Space

MN Code Camp is a local organization that strives to make science, engineering, math, coding and technology accessible and approachable to youth of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. It hopes to lower and remove as many barriers to entry as possible by providing low-cost options for learning and practicing coding in a safe environment.  Currently, MN Code Camp summer programs are offered through local community education sectors throughout the greater Twin Cities area. While planning for the upcoming season, our UX team was requested to help their program develop and grow. At the end of the summer 2018, the origination will launch its first ever Coding Championship. It is a unique opportunity to expand its visibility and reach.

Aurelius -  User Informed Feature Development

Creating New Features for Existing Web Application

Aurelius is a growing and developing information management and data synthesis tool and the next feature my client would like to launch is "Collections." This feature extends the functionality of Aurelius by creating the ability to share a group of notes, key insights, tags and/or documents with someone.  The clients requested a well-scoped solution that aligns with current brand guidelines.

Bounce - Discovering Usability Issues through User Testing and Analysis

User Testing Defines Design Approach

 

Methods & Tools: Heuristic Analysis, Usability Review, Remote and in Lab User Testing, Research Synthesis, Findings and Recommendations Report, Interactive Prototyping

 A comprehensive usability review and evaluation to determine of Bounce. A site that connects aspiring musicians to musical professionals and facilitates feedback of original music. Key opportunities for overall improvement and usability were identified and the current interface does not support the primary goals of the site. Findings from usability review and confirmed with user testing directed design recommendations made to the client.
